Bigsby B3 SG Install
I recently upgraded my 2006 Gibson SG Worn brown, with a Bigsby B3.
I love my SG, and could not bring myself to drilling holes in the body.
Therefore i bought the Towner Retrofit Kit.
The kit included a special aluminium washer, a screw, some rivets, some protective pads and an assembly to replace the tune o matic bridge string ancor
The washer is placed between the strap button and the bigsby, to make a solid and secure contact between them.
The screw replaces the old screw that held the strap button in place.
This screw is a bit longer to compensate for the bigsby and washer, and slightly fatter to secure the bigsby tightly to the body.
The rivets are used to cover up the holes in the bigsby, that are intended for screws into the guitar body.
The assembly makes an adjustable string holder, that holds the strings from
the bigsby at your set angle.
I installed a Bigsby B3, as i think they look a lot more pretty than the B5.
The B7 does not fit properly on an SG, especially without any mods.
The B3 also opens up the opurtunety to install a bigsby with no pernament modifications.
